Safety and Responsibility: As a future or current firearms owner it is up to you to practice safe firearms use and know the applicable laws in your area! You, the firearm owner, are responsible for every round that leaves the barrel and in keeping your firearms inaccessible to unauthorized individuals. Know the 4 rules of safe gun handling.
Known Methods: My Basic Handgun and Advanced Handgun Manipulation courses use known methods for teaching new skills to new and experienced pistol shooters alike. All teaching progresses from the known to the unknown and simple to complex.
Economy of motion: The human body has interesting ways of interacting with objects that it has to intermingle with. Those who designed pistols and handguns knew these human factors when going through the design process. I will show you these economies of motion to eliminate wasted movement and control recoil.
Reality: Sadly in Florida there are many people who call themselves “Firearm Instructors” and offer a $30 gun show special CCW/CWL training which comprises of students watching a 90 minute video then shooting one round into a bucket of sand. This is not realistic training! These instructors are taking advantage of good people and skirting the regulations! Training with me exceeds the states requirements for proficient firearms handling. Buying a Chevy Corvette does not mean you will turn into Dale Earnhardt and win the Daytona 500. Owning a pistol for concealed carry is the same way. Owning a pistol DOES NOT give you magical powers that keep evil away; you must train to gain the confidence, ability, and attitude to carry legally and safely. Murphy’s law applies especially to firearms as they are mechanical devices.
